What is an ink wash? I enjoy your artwork, but I am vague on this. I sometimes "draw" with water washable felt pens. Sometimes just leaving the image as a drwing and sometimes "wetting" it afterwards to get an effect similar to this. I've also done this with Sanford Sharpies, permanent markers and then used nail-polish remover, or acetone to "wash" the image. This appears as if you may have wet the paper first, and then painted with acrylic paints... almost like some people use water colors. I can't seem to get this technique correct with acrylics. Were some of your other "Ink Washes" created with felt pens, or pen and ink drawings. Thanks for posting these.
Shelley Bain replied:
I use an acrylic ink -- kind of a cross between india ink and watercolor -- yes I do wet the paper first then wash the ink. I like the acrylic ink because just like acrylic paint when it dries its more waterproof than regular ink or watercolor.
